Hi there! My name is Emily Hua née Chia.
I am currently open to new opportunities.
I got interested in usability from classes when I studied BA in Multimedia Computing at Coventry University. So much so, I wanted to specialise and study MSc in Human-Computer Interaction with Ergonomics at University College London.
Past 3 employers
4+ years working full-time as a UX Designer and then transition to Product Designer in-house
I started working in Metapack as part of a small three person design team working on a white label B2B product called Delivery Tracker in helping ‘where is my order’ calls for retailers.
During a US merger Metapack was bought by a private equity firm that was under the one company called Auctane. Here I was exposed to working and delivery solutions to B2B and B2C shipping products from Packlink and ShipStation.
7 months working full-time as a UX Designer in-house
Working within a SCRUM team to deliver multiple projects ranging from mapping user journeys to research and testing.
4 + years working full-time as a UX Designer and then transitioning to a UX/Optimisation consultant in-house
Staring within the website team I became the sole UX Designer helping with big website projects that ranged from a redesign to the creation of new micro-sites plus consulting on the day-to-day creation of pages.
As an optimisation consultant, I worked in a small team to identify areas of the website to A/B test that led to learnings and growth in conversion rate.
